The short version
Everything about your prayers — times, history, streaks — is computed and stored on your device. Fajr has no analytics and no ads. The one thing that leaves your phone is the community leaderboard entry: an anonymous profile (a random ID, a generated nickname like “Seeker #4821”, and your streak number) stored on our server. You can delete it in the app at any time.
Location
Prayer times and the qibla direction depend on where you are. Your location is used on your device to compute them and is saved only in the app's local storage. It is never transmitted anywhere.
Notifications
Prayer reminders are local notifications, scheduled and delivered entirely on your device.
Screen Time (app blocking)
If you enable blocking during prayer windows, Fajr uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework. Which apps you choose to pause is known only to the system on your device; Apple's design makes the selection opaque even to Fajr itself.
Community leaderboard
The Community tab shows a leaderboard of prayer streaks. To take part, the app creates an anonymous account — no email, name, phone number, or sign-in. Three things are stored on our server (hosted by Supabase in the EU, Frankfurt): a random user ID, an auto-generated nickname such as “Seeker #4821”, and your current streak count. Nothing else — no location, no prayer history, no device identifiers. Other players see only the nickname and streak.
You can delete this profile whenever you like: Settings → Delete Leaderboard Profile. Deletion removes the account, nickname, and streak from the server immediately. Opening the Community tab again later creates a fresh anonymous profile.
Subscriptions
Fajr Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple through your Apple ID. We never see your payment details, name, or email. See Apple's Privacy Policy for how Apple handles purchase data.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published at this address with an updated date above.
